"It's all about the Diva!"

Studio Flexible Art Mold #2004
"Art Deco Maidens"
Instructions are for Paper Clay but Makin's Clay® or Polymer Clay can also be used.


SUPPLIES:

  • Sweetbrier Studio™ “Art Deco Maidens" Mold #2004

  • Paper Clay White, any brand will work, I like Delight or Hearty Clay

  • Paper Mache Box approx. size 3” x 2” x l”

  • Twinkling H20’s — Gold Dust, Copper Penny, Golden Opal, Garnet

  • Cardstock 10 1/2” x 5”

  • Ribbon: 2 1/2”

  • Cord for loop on booklet: 2" narrow cord.

  • Casing Material by Sandtastick Inc. (This is similar to the ‘fabric’ that a doctor soaks in water to make a cast.)
    Stamps:
        Close to my Heart,
        Stampendous,
        Stamposique ,
        Mara-Mi

  • Inks

  • Crystal Lacquer: Pink, red, green

  • Embellishments: Lots of bling , gems, paper clip, charms, mirror

  • Favorite Adhesive

  • Brushes for Paints 


Molding: Step by Step polymer clay molding instructions:
Molding: Step by Step Paper Clay molding instructions:
To demold, slightly flex the mold while using your thumbs to pull the part loose around all sides. Gently push up on the molded part from the bottom as you flex the mold to lift or tip the part from the mold.

DIRECTIONS:


1. Mold the following F-1, Deco Pin, Deco Drop using air dry clay. Allow to dry.


2. Place small pieces of wet casing material (from Sandtastick inc. also found at craft stores) on the front of the paper Mache box to create texture. Allow to dry.


3. Paint the box with Gold Dust Twinkling H20. Allow to dry.


 

 

 

4. Make Booklet: Click for full size pattern. Cut cardstock to 10 1/2” x 5” (double check the inside measurement of your box— yours maybe smaller or larger).  Score on dotted lines and cut on solid lines.

  
5. Fold the cardstock in half lengthwise to 2/ 1/2” x 10 1/2.

6. Accordion fold the booklet. Your finished booklet should measure about 1 1/2” x 2 1/2”. (Remember yours maybe a little different size)

 

 

6 Continued. Fold the accordion folded paper on the center scored line.

 

 

5. Glue the loose pages together for form the booklet.
 

6. Fold the cord in half and glue to the center of the spine of the booklet to form a loop that will enable easy removable of the booklet from the box. Glue a little strip of ribbon or binding to the spine of the booklet to strengthen it.
 

 

7. Use stamp, sticker, embellishments and bling to decorate inside of booklet.
 

 

 

 

8. Paint the molded parts: If the face (F-1), Deco Pin and Deco Drop are not dry, you can still paint on wet clay. Paint the face (F-1) with Copper Penny Twinkling H20; Deco Pin with Golden Opal Twinkling H20; and Deco Drop with Garnet Twinkling H20.

9. Adhere the painted face to the “Head dress” (Deco Pin) and add some Bling!  She is a Diva!

10. Adhere the Diva face to the front of the box and stamp “DIVA” on the lower corner. Add a jewel to the Deco Drop and glue in place as shown.

 

 


11. Place booklet inside of box.
