How to Use Eraser Clay!™ in your Sweetbrier Studio Mold You can make fun and pretty erasers for gifts and for play. Below is a beautiful bouquet of erasers on stems for mom or teacher.
From Crosses to Dolphins, these erasers are fun and rewarding. Although our molds release easily, you will need to mist your mold with water every time you mold in it. Be sure to follow the directions on the Eraser Clay package for molding, baking and storing the baked erasers. Do not leave uncured clay in the mold. Mold one part at a time. Mold Care: After use, wash mold in soap and warm water. Before beginning to mold, soften the eraser clay according to manufacturers directions and mix colors needed for the project. 1.There is a measurement chart on the project that comes with your Sweetbrier Studio Flexible Mold that indicates how much clay is needed to fill each mold cavity. Roll a ball of clay, check the size on the circle outline. Add or subtract clay accordingly. The chart below shows a ball of clay that is 1 1/16 inch in diameter when viewed from above. If you want a thicker eraser, you may use a little extra clay.
2. Gently squeeze the ball of clay into a shape similar to the opening in the mold cavity. See illustration below.
3.Press clay into the deepest part of the mold and out from the center to the edges. See illustration below.
4. If you over fill a mold, you can leave the excess clay slightly mounded up for extra thickness if desired. 5. Before removing part from mold, clean the edges by pushing clay around the edges back into the mold with your fingertips. See illustration below.
6. Remove the cast part carefully by flexing the mold. See illustration below.
7. Place molded parts on a baking surface. Bake following directions on the eraser clay package. Be sure to bake no hotter than 250 degrees or for more than 10 minutes. Have fun!!
