"Let it Snow!" Mini Frame

Let It Snow! Mini Frame

Materials needed:

•Flexible Art Mold #1017 “Let it Snow”
•Small wood photo frame approx. 2.75” by 4” inches.
•Polymer clay colors: White
•Acrylic Paint Colors: Rich Blue & White
•Strong Glue like E-6000® or other strong bond glue.
•Varnish recommended by the manufacturer of the clay.
•Brushes: Small brushes for acrylic paint and varnish.
•Tiny brush or stylus for the dots.
•OPTIONAL: Tiny pearl or iridescent seed beads: 4
•Optional: Pasta maker to condition the clay.
•Mold Release Agent: If a release agent is needed, dust the openings with baby powder, corn starch or lightly mist with water.

Instructions for “Let It Snow!" Mini Frame”

Let it Snow! Flexible Mold

Mold the following using white polymer clay

Two each: Sn-1 & Sn-2 •Flatten the back of each piece before demolding. To Demold: Gently flex the mold backward in several areas, loosening the part, then flex more fully, lifting or tipping the part from the mold

1. Prepare the frame. •Remove the glass or clear acrylic sheet. •Sand lightly, wipe clean. •Basecoat: Paint the frame front and back with blue paint. •When dry, sand lightly, wipe clean and paint the frame with blue paint again. •Allow to dry.
2. Using white paints and a tiny brush or stylus, make a number of tiny dots as shown. •Make the dots at the top of the frame larger than those near the bottom.
3. Place the molded parts onto a baking surface. •Bake all the parts following manufacturer’s instructions. •Allow to cool.
4. Dry brush the snowflakes with white paint, highlighting the edges and detail of the snowflakes.

5. Glue the snowflakes to the frame as shown using strong glue.
6. OPTIONAL: You may glue a tiny seed bead to the center of each snowflake if desired using strong glue.
7. Varnish the frame and snowflakes using varnish suitable for polymer clay.
8. Replace the clear acetate ‘window’ in the frame. •Add your favorite winter photo.
